Fall Recruitment Events for International Talent

The PCREN is happy to share with you a list of Fall Recruitment Events that the Nova Scotia Office of Immigration and Population Growth (NSIPG) will be attending. This is an exciting opportunity to submit your job openings to be featured at NSIPG’s virtual booth that will be visited by international talent interested in Nova Scotia as a destination free of charge. There are events taking place both in Canada with the opportunity to attract foreign workers currently in the country, as well as international events.

Recruitment events are a great way to get started in immigration as you look for solutions to assist with any labour shortages you may be experiencing, and the PCREN is available to assist you every step of the way.

FALL 2021 Recruitment Events and Employer Opportunities 

Nova Scotia Office of Immigration and Population Growth (NSIPG)

NSIPG participates in intentional and domestic recruitment events to position the province as an immigration destination of choice and to help employers in Nova Scotia find international talent. 

We are now reaching out to share information and to determine employer interest in participating. Note all Fall 2021 events will be held virtually.

Newcomers Canada, Global Talent Expo: UK & Ireland

  • A virtual event for people who are considering immigrating to Canada to connect with Employers, learn about education, programs and services available.
  • Event is multisector.
  • Employers can either a) participate with NSIPG and have a dedicated booth at no cost, b) send job postings with NSIPG, or c) register and participate on your own.

Participating employers will:

  • Have the opportunity to promote their job openings on Newcomer Canada’s job board before the event. Candidates can apply for jobs ahead of time and you can schedule to meet/interview them on event day.
  • Promote their company on Newcomer Canada’s website
  • Meet and interview candidates in private rooms.
  • Chat with attendees in your employers’ dedicated booths.
  • Have a link to company website on Newcomers Canada site and social.
  • Work with Newcomers Canada directly for training on event platform.

Employers who send job postings will have their jobs promoted through NSIPG’s booth. You may also register and purchase a booth or package on your own.

 

Business to Business (B2B) Recruitment Fair

September 28 and 29, 2021

  • The B2B Virtual Fair hosts practical workshops to equip you with tools and resources for international recruitment. This Fair will introduce Canadian employers to pools of francophone and bilingual candidates and provide information on immigration programs managed by the federal Department of Immigration Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC).
  • IRCC representatives from 10 overseas offices as well as public employment services from 9 different countries will be participating in B2B fair as well staff from the IRCC Domestic Network, ESDC, and Rdée Canada. 
  • Introduce you to the various services available to help you in your recruitment in Canada and abroad (Destination Canada Forum Mobility, Virtual Job Fairs, Public Employment Services).
  • Discuss the needs of the labour market in their community and share solutions and best practices.

  • Traditionally these events experience strong attendance from the construction trades as well as nurses and care workers, some physicians and other healthcare workers.
  • Employers can register on their own or participate at no cost with an NSIPG booth.
  • Job postings shared with NSIPG/event organizers at last 1 month in advance will facilitate pre-screening of registered candidates and the potential for interviews scheduled by event organizers.

  • Destination Canada is an annual event organized by the Government of Canada to connect Canadian employers and organizations with skilled French-speaking and bilingual candidates in various fields. 
  • Destination Canada Mobility Forum gives you access to a pool of qualified candidates from around the world.

  • If employers are not able to participate, they can send job postings to NSIPG to post at our booth on their behalf.
